First, “all” these tabs. “ALL” last panel. Second, if Kay does not start sticking up for herself in the face of these – what? – ahumans? – alt-humans? – other-humans? – trans-U-mans? like she does with regular humans then I’m going to loose respect for her as a character. Sorry, Jack, but not cool. Fun, yes. But not cool to see her as the sub-tagonist in her own story. But -hey! -you don’t owe me the story of a young girl who was not impressed by the skeleton that came out of her closet. You just drew me in with that. S’all good. I was so much older then, I’m younger than that now.
This will be a little inside baseball but – characters as a general thought want to grow and have things to overcome during a story. I’ll straight out admit that when I started writing Kay, I think I made her just a little too “cool” – and the introduction of other amortals beyond P helped even the keel on that a little. I mean, she’s 19ish, maybe figured out there was a world full of these creatures under a year ago – she’s still working this stuff out. I think this leads to a little uncertainty about herself and her confidence too. Basically what I’m saying is: she’ll get there! I hope folks will enjoy the outcome.
